“ Our usual sushi train Restuarant at the Galleries has increased their price to $5 per standard plate. I remember it use to be $3.20. We therefore decided to try this place which was directly upstairs. Food is ok, serving size is ok and it is a good causal quick place that you can try . The eel rice was ok - don’t expect charcoal grilled at this level . ”
“ My favourite Negi Miso Ramen is back now! Plenty of fresh Negi top of Miso ramen is so typical style ramen, everyone’s favourite ramen which was disappeared for a while. Every visit at Ichiban Boshi, it’s very hard to choose one Ramen dish. I love Negi Miso ramen, Tantan men, wanton ramen, lately I tried Lemon ramen was fantastic too! always friendly service and good vibes! Good things is Ichiban Boshi opens from 11:30am to 9pm. They open all day without a lunch break. Most of time my lunch breaks is after 2pm, I don’t need to rush to get in before kitchen close. when you feel hungry you can visit anytime! ”
“ I came here with trepidation. It has been a very long time since I visited Ichiban. From memory the ramen was average but the other food was decent. That's why I ordered the omurice and tamagoyaki. To my surprise they met my expectation. The omurice was definitely carried hard by the sauce but it was decent. I sorta like the tamagoyaki was larger than I expected and was quite wet? I dunno how else to describe it. But it was ok. To this day people still love Ichiban and people line up for the shop. They've definitely made the shop look nice and I like how the ipad was in built into the table. ”
“ If you’re craving authentic Japanese flavours, this little gem of a restaurant seriously hits the spot. It may be a bit on the cosy side (read: packed with happy diners), but that’s usually a good sign—and in this case, it definitely was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting. The Japanese-inspired decor was simple but beautiful—wooden accents, lanterns, and traditional touches that made it feel like a tucked-away spot in Tokyo. It’s the kind of place where you forget you’re in Sydney for a moment. Now onto the main event: the ramen. Absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and full of depth, the noodles had that perfect springy bite, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. Whether you’re a ramen aficionado or just dipping your toes into Japanese cuisine, this bowl delivered big time. You can tell care was put into every detail of the dish. Despite how busy it was, the service was surprisingly quick and very polite. The staff moved efficiently and with the kind of quiet friendliness that makes you feel looked after without being fussed over. It’s clear the team knows how to handle a crowd without sacrificing quality or warmth. If you’re looking for a quiet, spacious dining room, this might not be your scene—but if you’re after flavour-packed food, speedy service, and a true Japanese vibe, this is absolutely worth a visit. It’s perfect for a casual meal out or even a spontaneous weeknight dinner when you’re craving something satisfying and comforting. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu—and maybe snag a seat during a quieter time! ”
“ Just found my new favorite Japanese ramen spot! ???????? Located inside The Galeries food court near Town Hall, Ichi-ban Ramen offers flavorful ramen at a super reasonable price, perfect for budget - conscious foodies like us! You can choose between different noodle or rice options, so there’s something for everyone. I’ve really enjoyed it and hope you will too. Give it a try ”
“ The broths are light yet still full of flavor, not heavy or overwhelming, which makes them very easy to finish. The spicy miso ramen had a nice kick without being too harsh, and the chashu was tender. The fried chicken ramen was also solid, with juicy chicken pieces that paired well with the soy-based broth. The matcha latte was creamy and not overly sweet, which was a nice balance alongside the ramen. It also came with a serving of brown sugar on the side so you can control how sweet you want it, which is a nice touch The setting has a lively atmosphere with a unique wooden frame design down the middle, giving it a modern but cozy feel. Service was friendly and food came out quickly despite how busy it was. Overall, a good spot if you’re after ramen that doesn’t weigh you down but still hits the right notes on flavor. ”
“ It's been perhaps over 5 years since we were last at Ichi-ban Boshi. Amazingly, the food is still good, and reasonably-priced. We were impressed by the attentiveness of the wait staff, who quickly brought a basket for our bags when they noticed us struggling. The ramen reminded us of Ichiran's in Japan (though the broth isn't as flavourful). The beef is charred to perfection. ”
“ We seriously love this place — we come almost every week! We don’t even live in the city, but we happily drive 30 minutes just to eat here. Every time we visit, we always order the cold udon. It seems like not many people know how good it actually is. It might look simple, but the taste is amazing. We’re also slowly trying other items on the menu, and everything so far has been great. Also one of our top favorites is the fresh salmon — it’s honestly better, fresher, and thicker than what you’d get at many high-end restaurants. We’re truly thankful for this restaurant and hope they keep making food just the way they do now. Please never change! ”
